Panthers' Deion Jones: Finds new home
Jones signed a one-year contract with Carolina on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Jones spent the first seven seasons of his career in Atlanta before joining Cleveland for the 2022 campaign. The 28-year-old saw a decreased workload with the Browns due to a combination of a shoulder injury and a reduced role, leading to a career-low 44 tackles. He'll now have the opportunity to earn a more significant role in the Panthers' linebacker corps.

Browns' Deion Jones: Fills stat sheet
Jones recorded seven tackles (four solo), two passes defensed and an interception in Sunday's 23-10 loss to the Bengals.
Jones played a season-high 54 snaps on defense, as he's taken over the team's starting middle-linebacker role in the absence of Sione Takitaki, who is out for the remainder of the year with a torn ACL. Jones' interception was his first since the 2020 season, while his two passes defensed were his first of the 2022 campaign. He'll work to remain a force in Week 15 against the Ravens.

Browns' Deion Jones: Likely to take over starting role
Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said that Jones is a likely candidate to take over as the team's starting middle linebacker after Sione Takitaki suffered a season-ending torn ACL on Sunday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Jones has largely played a rotational role since being traded from Atlanta to Cleveland in October, totaling 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks over six games. However, the 2017 Pro Bowler recorded over 100 tackles in five of six seasons as the Falcons' starting inside linebacker, so it's possible he could flourish if he does move up into a similar role with Cleveland. Jones will have to compete for this job with Jordan Kunaszyk, who Stefanski also mentioned as a possible candidate to step up into a bigger role moving forward.

Browns' Deion Jones: Logs nine stops in loss
Jones finished Sunday's loss to Miami with nine tackles (three solo), including a half-sack.
Jones totaled 10 tackles in his first two games with Cleveland between Weeks 7 and 8, and he returned from the team's bye to nearly match that total with nine stops against Miami. The linebacker also paired with Greg Newsome on a second-quarter sack of wide receiver Cedrick Wilson, who looked to throw the ball on a designed passing play. Jones already has 1.5 sacks in three games this season after recording two in 16 contests with Atlanta last year.

Jones recorded five tackles (three solo) and a sack during Monday's 32-13 win over the Bengals.
Jones contributed one of the five sacks on quarterback Joe Burrow on Monday night. The 2017 Pro Bowler also played 77 percent of Cleveland's defensive snaps while starting for the first time with his new team. Jones has recorded 10 tackles over his first two games with the Browns, and he is expected to continue playing a prominent role during the team's next contest against Miami on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Browns' Deion Jones: Set to take over starting role
Jones is set to become the Browns' starting middle linebacker, Anthony Poisal of the team's official site reports.
With Jacob Phillips (pectoral) likely done for the season, Jones is expected to step in and replace him as Cleveland's top option at middle linebacker. The 27-year-old registered five tackles in his team debut in Week 7 versus the Ravens after he was acquired via trade from the Falcons on Oct. 10. Jones recorded 137 tackles in 2021 and can certainly be a strong IDP fantasy option the rest of the season.

Jones had five tackles, one for a loss, over 33 snaps in Sunday's 23-20 loss to Baltimore.
Jones, who was acquired in a trade from Atlanta two weeks ago, made his debut for Cleveland. He served in a backup role Sunday but could be in line for greater usage next week. Starting middle linebacker Jacob Phillips left the loss in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury.

Cleveland acquired Jones Oct. 9 and he'll be set to make both his team and season debut. He has been practicing for the last two weeks, so he should be in line for a fairly heavy workload in the middle of the Browns' defense.

Browns' Deion Jones: Expected to play Week 7
Jones (shoulder) will likely play Week 7 against the Ravens, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "I think it is trending that way," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "He has done a nice job. Getting him more and more in practice."
Jones, who was acquired via trade from the Falcons on Oct. 9, was designated to return from injured reserve last week but did not play in Week 6's loss to New England. The former Pro Bowler is viewed as a piece that could help what has been a porous run defense thus far. His exact role in the linebacker rotation hasn't been made public, but initial speculation had Jones stepping in for the injured Anthony Walker (quadriceps) at middle linebacker, where Jacob Phillips has played every snap since Walker sustained his injury.

Browns' Deion Jones: Cleared for practice
The Browns designated Jones (shoulder) for return from injured reserve Wednesday.
After acquiring Jones from the Falcons on Monday, the Falcons will now have 21 days to either add the linebacker to the 53-man roster or keep him on IR for the remainder of the season. The 27-year-old has yet to appear in a game in 2022 after suffering a setback with his surgically repaired shoulder in early September. Jones was active for 16 games with Atlanta in 2021, registering 137 tackles, including two sacks, while deflecting six passes and forcing a fumble.
