  • Falcons' Justin Ellis: Agrees to deal with Atlanta

The Falcons are planning to sign Ellis on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Per Rapoport, Ellis impressed during a workout Friday and will get a chance to compete for a roster spot. The Falcons may be without Calais Campbell (undisclosed) for a large portion of the preseason, so Ellis, who's joining his third team in as many years, should have plenty of opportunities to showcase his skills.

  • Giants' Justin Ellis: Signed by Giants

Ellis agreed to a deal with the Giants on Wednesday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Ellis appeared in 30 games over the last two seasons for Baltimore and totaled 35 tackles. The 2014 fourth-round pick is likely to serve as a depth piece along the Giants' defensive line during the 2022 campaign after New York lost Austin Johnson -- who signed a two-year, $14 million deal with the Chargers -- this offseason.

  • Ravens' Justin Ellis: Pens one-year deal

Ellis re-signed Wednesday with the Ravens on a one-year, $1.2 million contract, NFL reporter Josina Anderson reports.

Ellis suited up in 13 games (three starts) with the Ravens last season, recording 17 tackles and a pass breakup. Brandon Williams is still expected to be the team's starting nose tackle in 2021, but Ellis adds flexibility and depth for Baltimore's front seven.

  • Ravens' Justin Ellis: Set to start Sunday

Ellis will start at nose tackle Sunday versus the Eagles because Brandon Williams is on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Ellis has played in four games this season as a backup to Williams, and he's recorded just one tackle. The veteran will have an increased role Sunday, and he'll look to disrupt a banged-up Eagles' offensive line. Miles Sanders is a major concern for the Ravens' defense, and Ellis will be responsible for pressuring Carson Wentz as well.

  • Ravens' Justin Ellis: Back with Baltimore

The Ravens and Ellis agreed to terms on a one-year contract Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Ellis operated in a reserve role for the Ravens after he signed with the team as a free agent in November of last season. The 29-year-old is expected to play a similar role in 2020 behind a stacked defensive front that has added the likes of Calais Campbell to the fold. Ellis supplied just six tackles (two solo) across four regular-season contests in 2019.

  • Ravens' Justin Ellis: Finds new home in Baltimore

The Ravens signed Ellis to the 53-man roster Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Ellis injured his knee during the preseason while playing for the Raiders, and he was eventually released from IR. The 28-year-old is healthy now, and he'll provide depth since Daylon Mack (knee) was placed on IR and Michael Pierce (ankle) is considered day-to-day. Nose tackle Domata Peko, who is six years older than Ellis, was also signed for the same purpose.

  • Raiders' Justin Ellis: Shifts to IR

Ellis (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per the league's official transactions report.

  • Raiders' Justin Ellis: Dealing with new injury

Coach Jon Gruden said Sunday that Ellis is dealing with a knee injury and his status for Week 1 is unclear, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Ellis is coming off a season in which we was placed on IR with a foot injury and is now dealing with further injury. It's unclear how the Louisiana Tech product picked up the nick, but the fact that he could miss Week 1 means it's at least a multiweek injury. If Ellis can't go for the start of the regular season, P.J Hall and Maurice Hurst would be candidates to draw the start at defensive tackle.

Coach Jon Gruden said earlier in the week Ellis would be activated ahead of Sunday's game and he now officially makes his return. Coach Jon Gruden said Monday that Ellis (foot) will be activated from injured reserve Week 13, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Ellis initially resumed practicing Nov. 21 and appears to be nearing a return to the active roster. The fifth-year pro seems to have fully recovered from a sprained foot sustained Week 1 of the regular season. • Raiders' Justin Ellis: Resumes practicing

Ellis (foot) returned to practice Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Ellis will participate in practice for the first time since suffering a foot sprain Week 1. The 27-year-old's return kicks off a three-week evaluation window, during which time the Raiders must decide whether to activate him off IR or opt to keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season. Because Ellis has already spent the required eight weeks on injured reserve, he is eligible to suit up as soon as the Raiders activate him.
