Davis will return to the NFL after having a standout season with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL, recording 39 catches for 575 yards and four touchdowns during the team's regular season. Davis was last let go from Houston's injured reserve list in August with an apparent hamstring injury, but the team's decision to re-sign the 25-year-old suggests he's moved past the issue. He'll now provide added depth for the Texans' receiving corps should any of the team's WRs miss time. Since going undrafted in 2019, Davis has suited up for just four games, recording one catch for 17 yards in that span.

Davis (hamstring) agreed to an injury settlement Friday and was waived off the Texans' injured reserve list, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Davis reverted to Houston's injured reserve list after clearing waivers at the beginning of August. Once healthy, the 25-year-old can look to land a deal with a new team. The wideout appeared in two games last year, catching one of three targets for 17 yards across 20 offensive snaps.

Davis (ankle) signed a one-year, $895,000 contract with the Texans on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Davis was signed by the Texans off the Browns' practice squad at the beginning of October, but he made just two appearances with Houston before suffering a fractured left ankle that cost him the remainder of the campaign. Davis started at slot receiver and did not catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 31-0 loss to Indianapolis.
Davis had not dressed for any games since Houston signed him off the Browns' practice squad in early October, but he was the primary beneficiary of slot receiver Danny Amendola landing on injured reserve with a knee injury. Davis played 20 snaps, seven more than Chris Moore, who had filled in earlier this season when Amendola was unavailable. Amendola is expected to miss at least another three weeks, so Davis should have more opportunities to prove he warrants consideration for next year's roster.
