The Bills have signed Evans, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Evans provides the Bills with added backfield depth in the wake of Nyheim Hines having sustained a knee injury that is expected to sideline him this season. James Cook, Damien Harris and Latavius Murray currently head the team's running back corps, so Evans doesn't have a clear path to steady carries, but the 2020 third-rounder does at least have a chance to absorb some of the change-of-pace work that Hines was slated to handle.

Darrynton Evans: Loses roster spot
Evans was waived by the Colts on Tuesday.
Evans just signed with the team in March. The 24-year-old appeared in six games for the Bears last season, recording 14 carries for 64 yards and a catch for 33 yards on his only target. A third-round pick of the Titans in 2020, he'll now look for a new opportunity elsewhere.

Colts' Darrynton Evans: Inking deal with Indy
The Colts are slated to sign Evans, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Evans, who worked out for Indianapolis early Friday morning, has since reportedly received a contract to suit up for the team in 2023. The 24-year-old running back is heading into his fourth year in the NFL and is now in line to play for his third different team following his two-season tenure with the Titans and a one-year stint in Chicago. Evans will presumably compete for a roster spot with Deon Jackson, Jake Funk and Aaron Shampklin behind top backfield options Jonathan Taylor and Zack Moss.

The Colts are hosting Evans for a tryout Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Evans, a 2020 third-round pick of the Titans, garnered 64 yards on 13 carries with the Bears last season, but became an unrestricted free agent back in March. Indianapolis already has Zack Moss and Deon Jackson present as depth behind Jonathan Taylor (ankle), but Evans' experience in the kick return game could help his chances of earning an opportunity.

Chicago didn't extend Evans a qualifying offer or tender as a restricted free agent Wednesday, so he's officially an unrestricted free agent, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Evans appeared in six games for the Bears in 2022, totaling 14 rushing attempts for 64 yards and securing his lone target for 33 yards. The 2020 third-round pick has previous experience as a kick-return man during his time in Tennessee, which should increase his value as a free agent this summer.
