The Seahawks signed Nwosu to a three-year extension Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The extension keeps Nwosu in Seattle through the 2026 season and is worth up to $59 million with $32 million guaranteed. Signed to a two-year, $19.055 million deal ahead of the 2022 campaign, Nwosu had a career year in Seattle last season, registering 9.5 sacks, 12 TFLs, 26 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. The 26-year-old will again key Seattle's pass rush off the edge.

Nwosu posted 67 tackles (42 solo), 9.5 sacks, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 17 regular-season games in 2022.
Nwosu totaled 9.5 sacks over the previous two seasons with the Chargers, but he broke out in Seattle's system while averaging a career-high 51 defensive snaps per game. The 2018 second-round pick just turned 26 years old, so he may not have hit his peak yet. Nwosu has only one year left on his contract in Seattle, so he'll be a candidate for an extension this offseason.

Nwosu recorded his third two-sack performance in five weeks, and he has extended his career high to nine sacks in his first season with the Seahawks. Nwosu played 59 of 66 defensive snaps (89 percent). He and Darrell Taylor (54 snaps) are the top edge rushers, but Nwosu had the more impressive stat line as Taylor failed to post a stop.
