  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Rattled by Nats

Carrasco (3-5) took the loss Saturday as the Mets were downed 11-6 by the Nationals, coughing up eight runs (six earned) on eight hits and a walk over 2.1 innings. He struck out two.

It was another early exit for the veteran right-hander, who has thrown only 9.1 innings over his last three starts while getting hammered for 24 hits and 15 runs. The Mets are cleaning house at the trade deadline, and Carrasco is in the final year of his contract, but it's hard to imagine a contender showing much interest in the 36-year-old given his 6.40 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 52:32 K:BB through 70.1 innings on the season. If he remains with the club past Tuesday, his next start would likely come next weekend in Baltimore.

  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Coughs up five runs

Carrasco (3-4) yielded five runs on 10 hits and two walks over 2.1 innings Sunday, striking out two and taking a loss against Boston.

The Red Sox caught fire in the third inning, poking six straight hits against Carrasco and forcing him out of the game after just 58 pitches. In his final three starts before the All-Star break, he gave up just four runs in 17 frames. However, he's been charged with nine runs over seven innings since then. The veteran righty has watched his season ERA balloon to 5.82 with a 50:31 K:BB through 14 starts. Carrasco's next outing is currently lined up to be at home against the Nationals.

  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Can't take advantage of run support

Carrasco didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 11-10 win over the White Sox, giving up four runs on six hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

The Mets staked Carrasco to a 5-0 lead after the first inning and added three more runs before he left the mound, but the veteran right-hander couldn't stick around long enough to qualify for the win. He got the hook after 82 pitches (50 strikes), failing to complete five innings for the fourth time in his last six starts. Carrasco has a 4.60 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 25:14 K:BB through 29.1 innings over that stretch, and he's a risky play even as a streaming option given his inability to pitch deep into games. His next outing lines up for a weekend tilt in Boston.

  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Stellar in third win

Carrasco (3-3) allowed three hits and a walk while striking out four over eight shutout innings to earn the win Thursday over the Diamondbacks.

Carrasco had pitched into the seventh inning just once prior to Thursday's start, which was easily his best of the campaign. He ended a five-start winless skid with the gem against the NL West leaders. Even after the strong outing, the veteran right-hander has a 5.16 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 43:27 K:BB through 61 innings across 12 starts on the year.

Carrasco yielded one run through four frames before serving up a solo shot to Wilmer Flores in the fifth. Carrasco has allowed two runs in three of his last four starts but still owns an ugly 5.94 ERA through 53 innings. He hasn't finished more than five innings in an outing since May 31. • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Allows two runs in no-decision

Carrasco did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over four innings against Philadelphia. He struck out five.

Carrasco has allowed at least one home run in nine of his 10 starts this year and sports an ugly 6.19 ERA. The right-hander has also failed to complete five frames in three straight starts, posting a horrendous 10:8 K:BB across 11.2 innings during that stretch. Despite his struggles, Carrasco's spot in the Mets rotation remains secure while Jose Quintana (ribs) is sidelined, but that doesn't mean he needs to be rostered in standard fantasy leagues.

  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Pulled in fourth

Carrasco did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks over three innings in a 8-7 loss to St. Louis. He struck out four.

Carrasco posted season-worst marks in innings completed and runs allowed during a disappointing outing. After a rough first start, the right-hander had been solid since coming off the injured list in mid-May, posting a 3.22 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over his past four starts, but he struggled again Sunday. It was the fourth time Carrasco has allowed at least five runs this season, and his ERA currently sits at 6.34. Regardless, Carrasco's spot in the rotation is secure for the time being, and his next start is lined up for a matchup in Philadelphia.

Carrasco now sports a 5.71 ERA with a 1.46 WHIP and 24:18 K:BB through eight starts (41 innings) this season. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, currently lined up for next week against the Cardinals.

  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Hits wall in no-decision

Carrasco didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to Atlanta, giving up four runs on six hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out four.

The veteran righty seemed to be in control through five innings as the Mets held a 4-1 lead, but things unraveled quickly for Carrasco in the sixth after a leadoff walk was followed by back-to-back doubles. He exited after 86 pitches (52 strikes), ending his brief two-game streak of wins and quality starts. Carrasco will carry a 5.94 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 23:15 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next outing, which is likely to come this weekend in Pittsburgh.

  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Picks up second straight win

Carrasco improved to 2-2 with a win over Philadelphia on Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out four batters over six innings.

Carrasco was efficient in tossing 52 of 82 pitches for a strike over six frames, and the only run he allowed came on an Edmundo Sosa solo shot. The veteran righty picked up his second straight quality start, with each outing resulting in a victory. Carrasco struggled to begin the campaign, allowing 11 earned runs across 8.2 innings over his first two starts. He's been much better since then, yielding two or fewer runs in three of his subsequent four outings and completing at least five frames in each appearance during that span.

  • Mets' Carlos Carrasco: Notches first win

Carrasco (1-2) allowed a run on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings, earning the win Thursday over the Cubs.

Carrasco was lit up in his return from an elbow injury last week, but he responded with his best and longest outing of the season. The lone run against him came on a Dansby Swanson solo home run in the first inning. Carrasco still has yet to strike out more than four batters in a start, but Thursday's outing was a step in the right direction overall. He has a 6.75 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 15:12 K:BB over 25.1 innings this season. The veteran right-hander is projected for a home start against the Phillies next week.
