Duran went 1-for-3 and was caught stealing in Friday's 3-2 win over San Franciso.
Duran was removed for pinch hitter Rob Refsnyder with a runner on second base in the top of the eighth inning when lefty Taylor Rogers entered for the Giants. Refsnyder delivered Boston's third run, an insurance score to make it 3-1 before San Francisco plated a run in the bottom of the frame. It should be noted that as good as Duran has been in 2023, just 42 of his 295 plate appearances have come against left-handers. He has a .754 OPS against them, which is an improvement over his previous years in the majors, but Refsnyder has hammered southpaws in 2023, posting a .932 OPS against them.

Duran turned in his fourth multi-hit effort of July and cranked his fifth long ball of the season. Since the beginning of the month, Duran is 13-for-22 (.591) with six doubles, 10 runs, four RBI and two stolen bases in seven games. The 26-year-old has turned things around offensively this year with an .885 OPS through 69 games.

Duran put his legs to work immediately Wednesday; following a leadoff single in the bottom of the first inning, he stole second base and came around to score on Justin Turner's single. It was his 16th stolen base and fifth in the last nine games. Just when it looked like Duran's bubble had burst -- a .205 average and .559 OPS over 28 games from May 20 to June 22 -- the outfielder has bounced back. Duran is 14-for-31 (.452) with five doubles, a triple and a home run over the last nine contests. He looks like a different hitter after a couple of failed stints in the majors the previous two seasons. The player that let poor results snowball on him in 2021 and 2022 has not reappeared yet in 2023.

Duran went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate, marking his first career game with more than three hits. Duran went 2-for-5 with one run scored and three steals in Saturday's loss against the White Sox.
After going 0-for-9 with five strikeouts across his previous two games, Duran turned in a massive outing Saturday. He set a season high in swipes, taking second base three different times on as many pitchers. His single run scored came in the top of the ninth, when he reached on an infield single, stole second and then advanced to third on a wild pitch before being driven in by Justin Turner to tie the game. Though Duran has lost playing time since Adam Duvall returned from the injured list, he remains a solid fantasy option when in the lineup, slashing .289/.346/.443 with 21 doubles and 14 stolen bases through 194 at-bats.

Duran finished with three hits for the fourth time this season, and this was the second instance in which he collected a trio of doubles in a single contest. The outfielder's big performance pushed his season average back up to .300 for the first time since May 27. Duran went through a cold spell in early June but is batting .478 (11-for-23) with five doubles and three thefts over his past 10 games.
