Player Outlook
The Jets receiving corps got crowded this offseason with the additions of Allen Lazard, Mecole Hardman and Randall Cobb, even with the loss of Elijah Moore. But Wilson is the lead singer and should be the best receiver for the Jets -- and one of the best for Fantasy managers as well. The addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers should bring out the best in Wilson, who thrived as a rookie in 2022 with every quarterback aside from Zach Wilson. In seven games with Joe Flacco or Mike White, Garrett Wilson averaged 17.6 PPR points per game, including three outings with at least 24 PPR points. At that average, he would have been the No. 7 PPR receiver in 2022. That's the type of upside Wilson has, and hopefully Rodgers can help him play at that level for a full season. Wilson is worth drafting in late Round 2 or early Round 3 in all leagues, and he should be viewed as a top-10 Fantasy receiver in all formats.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Expected back Saturday

Wilson (ankle) had a good workout Tuesday and is expected back at practice Saturday, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports. Wilson, who suffered a low ankle sprain last week at practice, is thus slated to miss the Jets' preseason opener Thursday against the Browns. Assuming no setbacks once he returns to the field, the wideout could potentially see work in the team's second exhibition contest, Aug. 12 against the Panthers.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Continues to miss practice

Wilson (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Wilson hurt his ankle during last Thursday's practice, but Antwan Staley of nydailynews.com relays that the wideout is dealing with a low ankle sprain. With that in mind, Wilson profiles as day-to-day and it seems unlikely that he'll take the field in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Browns.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Not practicing Sunday

Wilson (ankle) won't practice Sunday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. Wilson turned his ankle during Thursday's practice and remains sidelined. Head coach Robert Saleh initially said the wideout should be okay and is considered day-to-day with a low-ankle sprain. Despite it presumably being a minor issue, it's not surprising to see the Jets take a cautious approach with the 2022 first-rounder, who caught 83 passes for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns across 17 appearances as a rookie.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Ankle issue downplayed by coach

Wilson hurt his ankle during Thursday's practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports. On the plus side, coach Robert Saleh noted afterward that all indications are that the Jets' top wideout will be okay. For now, consider Wilson day-to-day. The 2022 first rounder is coming off a strong rookie campaign in which he logged 83 catches for 1,103 yards and four touchdowns on 147 targets in 17 games.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Tops 1,100 yards as rookie

Wilson caught nine of 17 targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 11-6 loss to the Dolphins. He finishes his rookie season with 83 catches for 1,103 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 147 targets. Wilson had a phenomenal rookie season, establishing himself as the team's clear No. 1 wide receiver while setting the Jets rookie record in receiving yards. His production was even more impressive given New York's quarterback carousel of Zach Wilson, Mike White (ribs) and Joe Flacco, who peppered the 2022 first-round pick out of Ohio State with targets in the season finale. If the Jets can upgrade under center in 2023, Wilson would be well positioned to avoid a sophomore slump.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Top DFS Play

Wilson was still the lead target earner for the Jets in Week 17 and I would expect a bounce-back performance against a Dolphins defense that has been much better against the pass than the run. Hopefully the down game last week holds down his roster rate as well.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Can't take advantage of volume

Wilson caught three of 11 targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 23-6 loss to the Seahawks. He was by far Mike White's favorite option on the day, but the QB's struggles led to a brutal line in the box score for Wilson. The rookie wideout is ending his first NFL campaign with a whimper, posting a 7-48-0 line over the last two games despite 20 targets, and the Jets' unsettled quarterback situation will make him a risky fantasy play in Week 18 against the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Start

Wilson has to be the most excited player for the Jets now that Mike White is starting again. In three games with White, Wilson averaged 21.0 PPR points per game against the Bears, Vikings and Bills. He had 30 targets over that span for 19 catches, 335 yards and two touchdowns, and he should have the chance for another big game in Week 17. It's a tough matchup against Seattle and fellow rookie Tariq Woolen, but I'll still take my chances with Wilson as a starter in all leagues now that White is back. And I like Elijah Moore as a sleeper and high-end No. 3 PPR receiver since he scored at least 12 PPR points in two of three starts with White.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Contrarian DFS Play

Seattle has been pretty great against receivers lately, but Garrett Wilson has been close to unstoppable with anyone but Zach Wilson at quarterback. In his first three starts with Mike White he earned 30 targets and caught 19 of them for 335 yards and two scores. He's a top-10 wide receiver for me this week, despite the bad matchup on paper.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Disappointing performance in loss

Wilson brought in four of nine targets for 30 yards in the Jets' 19-3 loss to the Jaguars on Thursday night. He also lost a fumble. The rookie receiver suffered a significant downturn in production in conjunction with a shaky night overall for the Jets' air attack. Zach Wilson was replaced by Chris Streveler late in the third quarter, which actually helped to boost Wilson's production somewhat. However, Wilson's lost fumble at New York's 38-yard line with just over four minutes remaining arguably snuffed out any chance at a successful comeback, as the turnover led to a field goal that gave the Jaguars a 16-point advantage. Wilson's best chance at Week 17 success in a road matchup versus the Seahawks a week from Sunday would be the return of Mike White (ribs) to the starting role.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Almost 100 yards with Wilson at QB

Wilson caught four of nine targets for 98 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Lions. Wilson was targeted only three times in the first half by Zach Wilson, though one of those looks turned into a 33-yard reception. The rookie receiver was noticeably frustrated in the third quarter when he was running open beyond the sticks but the second-year quarterback missed him with an errant throw. Wilson kept his head in the game, though, and made another 33-yard catch in the fourth despite being interfered with by a defender on a drive which culminated with C.J. Uzomah's go-ahead touchdown catch. After the Lions retook the lead, Wilson added catches of 22 and 10 yards to help get the Jets in range for a game-tying field-goal attempt, which Greg Zuerlein missed from 58 yards. The Jets have a quick turnaround before facing the Jaguars on Thursday, which will make it a tall order for Mike White (ribs) to get cleared; therefore, Garrett could be catching passes from Zach (no relation) again in Week 16.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Sit Him (Lineup Decisions)

There isn't much to dislike about the matchup, but there's no confidence with Zach Wilson at quarterback. When he's played, he's been unfocused and skittish as he moves all over the pocket without throwing until he's really sure about his read or really desperate to get rid of the ball. Could his issues from his starts be fixed after a couple of weeks? I wouldn't bet on it. Garrett Wilson has potential to catch six passes but he may not even see 70 yards with it, and his lack of touchdown opportunities from Wilson crush his upside even more. I'd rather trust Zay Jones, Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Start

Wilson had a great game against the Bills in Week 9 with eight catches for 92 yards on nine targets for 17 PPR points, and that was one of his rare quality outings with Zach Wilson. Garrett Wilson has thrived this season without Zach Wilson, averaging 20.2 PPR points per game with either Joe Flacco or Mike White. And in two games with White, Garrett Wilson has 13 catches for 257 yards and two touchdowns on 23 targets for an average of 25.0 PPR points per game. Wilson should be started in all leagues in Week 14.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Thriving with White at QB

Wilson caught eight of 15 targets for 162 yards and threw an incomplete pass in Sunday's 27-22 loss to Minnesota. Wilson bounced off a tackle attempt and scampered downfield for a 60-yard gain early in the fourth quarter, but he stepped on the sideline at the 11-yard line, preventing him from coming away with a 71-yard touchdown on the play. The Jets had to settle for their fifth field goal of the game to cap that possession, cutting Minnesota's lead to 20-15. Wilson also had a chance to throw the ball on a trick play, but he wisely threw it away after Minnesota sniffed it out. The rookie first-round pick has been tremendous since the Jets upgraded from Zach Wilson to Mike White under center, racking up 257 yards and two touchdowns in White's two starts. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 14, when the Jets will try to sweep the season series against the Bills.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Start

Wilson is averaging 19.3 Fantasy points per game in the four games not started by Zach Wilson this season. Garrett Wilson just had five catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns on eight targets against the Bears in Week 12 with Mike White, and Wilson should stay hot this week against the Vikings. Since Week 6, eight receivers have scored at least 17 PPR points against Minnesota, with six touchdowns over that span. Wilson has top-15 upside in all leagues for Week 13.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Top DFS Play

There's still too much of Zach Wilson priced into Garrett Wilson. He has top-10 upside this week against a Vikings team that presents a near-perfect matchup. They're good against the run, can score a bunch of points, and struggle against the pass.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Two TDs in White's debut

Wilson caught five of eight targets for 95 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-10 win over the Bears. He added one rushing attempt for minus-1 yard. Wilson showed immediate chemistry with new starting quarterback Mike White, catching three of four targets for 32 yards on the opening drive, including an eight-yard touchdown. The pair hooked up again in the second quarter for a 54-yard touchdown, on which Wilson showed off his shiftiness after the catch. At least for one game, White looked like a considerable upgrade over Zach Wilson under center, which has the rookie wide receiver's arrow pointing up ahead of a Week 13 matchup with a leaky Minnesota secondary.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Held to 12 yards in Week 11 loss

Wilson caught two of three targets for 12 yards and rushed once for no gain in Sunday's 10-3 loss to the Patriots. Both offenses struggled on a windy day in Foxborough, but New York's passing game was particularly ineffective, as quarterback Zach Wilson completed only nine of 22 passes for 77 yards. This was the second-lowest yardage total of Wilson the receiver's career, and it came just three weeks after the rookie first-round pick racked up a career-high 115 yards against this same opponent. New York's entire offense has nowhere to go but up in Week 12 at home against a far more generous Chicago defense.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: WRs to Start

Wilson has been excellent since Breece Hall (ACL) and Corey Davis (knee) got hurt, scoring 17 PPR points in each of his past two games. Wilson has 16 targets over that span for 14 catches and 207 yards. Against the Patriots in Week 8, Wilson had six catches for 115 yards on seven targets. Even if Davis returns this week, Wilson has top-15 upside in all leagues. New England has faced nine receivers to get at least seven targets, and six of them have scored at least 14 PPR points. Wilson will hopefully stay hot coming off the Jets bye in Week 10.

  • Jets' Garrett Wilson: Will remain top dog as Davis sits

Wilson is in line for another game as New York's clear No. 1 wide receiver with Corey Davis (knee) having been ruled out for a third straight game, Ethan Greenberg and John Pullano of the Jets' official site report. Wilson has thrived since Davis went down, racking up 115 receiving yards Week 8 and 99 total yards Week 9 prior to the Jets' Week 10 bye. The 115-yard game came against the Patriots, whom the rookie first-round pick will face again Sunday, this time on the road.
