Player Outlook
Over the past two seasons, St. Brown has finished top 12 in total targets, receptions and red-zone targets (35). It's the backbone of these stats that have helped St. Brown become a must-start volume-reliant No. 1 Fantasy WR worth a top-30 pick. Lions QB Jared Goff has locked in on the slot specialist for over 25% of his throws since 2021, and St. Brown has turned that opportunity into at least 15 PPR points in 13 of his last 22 games overall. He had more 20-point games for PPR than A.J. Brown and just as many as Ja'Marr Chase. Detroit's offensive additions this spring shouldn't shrink St. Brown's targets much, if at all, making him a reliable must-start worth taking between 16th and 22nd overall in PPR and between 20th and 35th overall in non-PPR.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Seeking growth as deep threat

St. Brown said that he is aiming to become more of a deep threat, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Only seven players have caught more passes than St. Brown since he was drafted in 2021, but he hasn't topped six touchdowns in either of the past two years, and only once has he caught a pass longer than 40 yards. Ultimately, his reliance on red-zone targets for touchdowns is one of the only knocks left on St. Brown's fantasy game, and any progress he could make this offseason as a downfield receiver would surely help in this area. While he'll also need his coaches to give him the opportunity to catch those kinds of passes on Sundays, it helps that the player Detroit drafted in 2022 to be its top deep threat, Jameson Williams, is suspended for the first six games of the year.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Held to 49 yards in finale

St. Brown had six receptions (nine targets) for 49 yards in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Packers. St. Brown didn't post huge fantasy numbers in the last game of the season, but he did make an impossible catch with his legs on the Lions' final drive of the game to seal the win and knock the rival Packers out of playoff contention. The 22-year-old took his game to another level in his sophomore campaign, racking up 106 receptions for 1,161 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games. St. Brown developed a strong rapport as Jared Goff's favorite target, a scenario that should continue in 2023 as the Lions look to build off of a solid run this year.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Held in check

St. Brown caught four of fives targets for 62 yards during Sunday's 41-10 win over Chicago. St. Brown was surprisingly unproductive on a day the Lions found plenty of offensive success, likely a result of the run game dominating in full force plus Jared Goff finding tight ends and running backs for his three passing touchdowns. With that said, St. Brown remained Detroit's most productive pass catcher, and his output was enough for the second-year wideout to notch 100 receptions on the season. Look for St. Brown to remain the focal point of the Lions passing game in a cold-weather Week 18 game in Green Bay.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Another busy day

St. Brown caught seven of 13 targets for 76 yards during Saturday's 37-23 loss to Carolina. Merely selected as a Pro Bowl alternate this season, St. Brown made history in multiple ways Sunday. Not only did he best Calvin Johnson to become the youngest Lions receiver to reach 1,000 yards in a season, he also joined Michael Thomas and Odell Beckham to become the third player in NFL history with at least 90 receptions and 900 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons. With Jamaal Williams (leg) perhaps set to miss time, the Lions seem set to lean on the pass even more in a Week 17 matchup against a Bears defense allowing the third-most yards per pass attempt (7.8) in 2022.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Snags seven passes

St. Brown caught seven of 10 targets for 76 yards while rushing once for six yards during Sunday's 20-17 win against the Jets. Having already caught at least seven passes in seven of 10 games he was healthy enough to log at least half of the offensive snaps, St. Brown was about the only Lions weapon that the Jets defense didn't have an answer for. However, as was the case with every other Lions wideout, New York at least prevented him from popping any big plays or reaching pay dirt. St. Brown will look to remain a key cog in Detroit's passing attack in a Week 16 matchup with Carolina.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Downturn in Week 14 win

St. Brown secured six of nine targets for 68 yards in the Lions' 34-23 win over the Vikings on Sunday. He also rushed once for six yards. St. Brown got off to a slow start before coming on with two receptions for 34 yards on the Lions' final drive of the first half. The star second-year wideout is beginning to cede more opportunities to a now-healthy DJ Chark, and rookie Jameson Williams also appears set to carve out a progressively larger role in the coming weeks after recording a 41-yard touchdown reception Sunday. St. Brown naturally will continue to fill a significant role in Detroit's red-hot air attack heading into the fantasy postseason, but he'll have a tough matchup versus the Jets on the road Week 15.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Top DFS Play

Last week, Garrett Wilson cooked this defense for 162 yards and the week before the Patriots receivers combined for more than 240 yards. The Vikings have given up the second-most Fantasy points to WRs this season and St. Brown has 236 yards over his past two games.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Feasts on Bills secondary

St. Brown caught nine of 10 targets for 122 yards with one touchdown while rushing once for seven yards during Thursday's 28-25 loss to Buffalo. The Bills didn't have much of an answer for St. Brown, who has been a menace in 2022 when he doesn't seem to be the only above-average wideout the Lions have on the field. In the four games in which DJ Chark and his 4.3 speed has logged more than 10 offensive snaps, St. Brown now has 32 receptions for 375 receiving yards with four touchdowns. Considering those numbers are somehow in line with his explosive 2021 breakout, it will be interesting to see if St. Brown can maintain his productive ways now that Detroit's offense is getting significantly healthier. Next up is a Week 13 matchup against a Jaguars defense that has been much better against the run than the pass in 2022.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Gains 80 yards in win

St. Brown hauled in seven of eight targets for 76 yards and rushed once for four yards in Sunday's 31-18 win over the Giants. St. Brown did the heavy lifting for Detroit's passing game, pacing the team in all passing categories in an upset victory. The Lions' rushing attack took care of all of the scoring with four touchdowns from in close, much to the chagrin of St. Brown's fantasy managers. That seems to be a recurring theme for the star wideout, who has been held scoreless since visiting the end zone three times in the first two games of the campaign. St. Brown still carries a solid 56/594/3 line heading into a Thanksgiving matchup against the Bills on Thursday.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Tops century mark in win

St. Brown caught 10 of 11 targets for 119 yards in Sunday's 31-30 win over the Bears. He also added two yards on one carry. St. Brown reached triple digits in yards for the first time since Week 2 while setting a new season high in receptions, and he appears to be back in his early-season form heading into a Week 11 clash with the Giants.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Leads quiet passing attack

St. Brown hauled in four of nine targets for 55 yards in Sunday's 15-9 win over the Packers. St. Brown didn't post gaudy totals, but he did pace the Lions in every notable receiving category outside of touchdowns. After a red-hot start to the season, the 23-year-old has seen his production taper as defenses key in on Detroit's top wide receiver. St. Brown remains Jared Goff's favorite target with a 9.8 target average in the five games the duo has started and finished this season. The heavy volume and and a favorable matchup keeps St. Brown in must-start territory against the Bears next Sunday.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Solid showing in Week 8 loss

St. Brown (concussion protocol) brought in seven of 10 targets for 69 yards in the Lions' 31-27 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. St. Brown cleared concussion protocol over the weekend and was able to get through the game without incident, leading the Lions in receptions and targets in the process. The second-year wideout averaged a modest 9.9 yards per grab in his usual short-area role, but he continued to reward fantasy managers with a safe floor, particularly in PPR formats. With his most productive showing since Week 2 now under his belt, St. Brown will carry some momentum into a Week 9 home NFC North clash against the Packers.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Suiting up Sunday

St. Brown (concussion protocol) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. St. Brown played limited snaps in both of the Lions' last two games, the first in Week 5 while he was well below 100 percent due to a right ankle sprain and the second in Week 7 after he suffered a concussion in the first half of a loss to the Cowboys. The wideout is now further removed from the ankle sprain and was able to clear the concussion protocol shortly after putting in a full practice Friday, so St. Brown could be in decent position to approach the high-end fantasy production he delivered in the first three weeks of the season. In those contests, St. Brown delivered a 23-253-3 receiving line on 33 targets while also carrying twice for 68 yards.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: On track to play Sunday

St. Brown remains listed as questionable but has reportedly cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and is in line to play Sunday against the Dolphins, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. After being a limited participant at practices Wednesday and Thursday, St. Brown was deemed a full participant Friday. Final confirmation of his Week 8 status will arrive when the team's inactive list is posted approximately 90 minutes ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but the wideout looks on track to play. In five games this season, St. Brown has recorded a 28-275-3 receiving line on 40 targets.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Listed as questionable

Brown (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Miami, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports. Brown still needs to clear concussion protocol and thus is listed as questionable, though coach Dan Campbell said Friday morning that he thought the star slot receiver would play, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. If so, it'll be the healthiest the Detroit offense has been since September, with RB D'Andre Swift, WR Josh Reynolds and TE T.J. Hockenson all entering the weekend without injury designations. St. Brown, meanwhile, will hope to clear concussion protocol Friday evening or Saturday and suit up for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Remains limited Thursday

St. Brown (concussion protocol) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. Opening Week 8 prep with back-to-back capped sessions is a fair sign that St. Brown is progressing through the protocol for head injuries. He entered said protocol this past Sunday in Dallas, when he seemed to stumble as he attempted to get to the sideline and eventually went to the locker room, where he was ruled out. St. Brown will have one more opportunity to get back to full participation this week before the Lions make a ruling on a game-day designation for Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins. Elsewhere in the team's receiving corps, DJ Chark (ankle), Jameson Williams (knee) and Quintez Cephus (foot) aren't on the active roster, and Josh Reynolds (knee) also was limited at practice Thursday, so Kalif Raymond and Tom Kennedy are the healthy options at the position.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Limited Wednesday

St. Brown (concussion protocol) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday. The Lions' receiving corps is particularly banged up, with DJ Chark (ankle) and Quintez Cephus (foot) on injured reserve, rookie Jameson Williams (knee) more than a month away from making his debut and Josh Reynolds (knee) unable to practice Wednesday. While St. Brown entered the concussion protocol this past Sunday at Dallas, he may not have a head injury, as head coach Dan Campbell expressed confidence Monday that the team's top wide receiver will be cleared to play Sunday versus the Dolphins, per Tim Twentyman of the team's official site. With some activity under his belt this week, St. Brown is trending in a positive direction on that front.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Suffers concussion Sunday

St. Brown sustained a concussion during Sunday's game at Dallas. Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, St. Brown appeared to stumble toward the sideline after taking a hit on the Lions' second possession of the contest. The nearest referee sent St. Brown to the sideline, and after a visit to the blue medical tent, the wide receiver went to the locker room without a helmet, at which point a concussion was confirmed. St. Brown -- who won't return to Sunday's game -- thus will be subject to the protocol for head injuries before he'll be able to return to action.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Practices in full Wednesday

St. Brown (ankle) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice. With the benefit of the Lions' Week 6 bye, St. Brown has put the high-ankle sprain that he sustained Week 3 at Minnesota further in the rear-view mirror. The same can't be said for DJ Chark (ankle) and Josh Reynolds (knee), both of whom didn't practice to kick off Week 7 prep. If one or both are sidelined Sunday in Dallas, St. Brown would have fewer players to contend with for targets, especially if No. 1 running back D'Andre Swift (ankle/shoulder), who was limited Wednesday, isn't able to make it all the way back. In the two-plus games in which St. Brown was healthy this season, he compiled a 23-253-3 line on 33 targets and also racked up 68 yards on two carries.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Back in action Sunday

St. Brown (ankle) is listed as active Sunday at New England. After failing to practice and not playing Week 4 against the Seahawks, St. Brown didn't get back on the field until Friday, when he had a cap on his reps. He made an early departure from that session to focus on rehab before the Lions tabbed him as questionable for Week 5. The decision to make St. Brown available (or not) came down to a game-time call, and the team has opted for the former with its top wide receiver. While St. Brown may not be 100 percent, he averaged 11 targets per game and scored three TDs in his three appearances this season, so he should see regular looks from quarterback Jared Goff in an offense that's down running back D'Andre Swift (shoulder/ankle) and wide receiver DJ Chark (ankle).
