  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Earns win in bulk relief

Beck (3-0) earned the win in Thursday's 1-0 victory over the Diamondbacks. He allowed two hits without walking a batter while striking out three over four scoreless innings. Beck turned in a solid bulk-relief outing, blanking the Arizona offense for four innings after Scott Alexander worked as the opener for San Francisco. The 27-year-old Beck, a rookie, has pitched well in his last six appearances for the big-league club, posting a sterling 0.60 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB across 11.1 innings during that span.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Collects win Sunday

Beck (2-0) earned the extra-innings win Sunday over the Red Sox, walking one and striking out three over two scoreless and hitless innings. Beck was called up from Triple-A Sacramento earlier in the day to provide some length out of the bullpen with Anthony DeSclafani (elbow) landing on the injured list. Beck did his job well, working the 10th and 11th innings before Joc Pederson's bases-loaded walk forced in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th. Beck has a 2.94 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 41:13 K:BB through 52 innings over 21 appearances at the major-league level this year. His role is likely to be versatile while he's with the Giants, so he could have some chances to vulture wins if he gets middle-innings assignments.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Optioned to Triple-A

The Giants optioned Beck to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday. Beck has been solid out of the bullpen for the Giants this season with a 3.06 ERA and 1.12 WHIP through 50 innings, but he'll return to the minors to clear a spot on the roster for Anthony DeSclafani (shoulder). As long as Beck keeps performing as well as he has been, there's a good chance he returns to San Francisco later this summer.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Returns from thumb injury

Beck has pitched twice since recovering from a cut on his thumb, covering 4.1 scoreless innings while allowing four hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Beck left his June 25 appearance versus the Diamondbacks with a cut on his thumb, but it was always expected to be a minor issue. He's been an effective long-relief option for the Giants this season, pitching to a 3.20 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 35:12 K:BB through 45 innings across 18 appearances. Beck could continue to work in bullpen games and whenever the Giants need a reliever to cover multiple frames.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Dealing with cut on thumb

Beck exited Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks due to a cut on his thumb, Danny Emerman of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports. Beck wasn't particularly sharp during Sunday's relief appearance, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one in 2.1 innings. His injury likely contributed to his struggles, although it's unclear whether he'll be forced to miss additional time.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Goes four innings for save

Beck allowed three hits and a walk while striking out two over four shutout innings to earn the save in Saturday's 15-0 win over the Dodgers. This was a smooth outing with plenty of cushion for Beck, who helped the Giants spare their bullpen after they used eight pitchers in Friday's 11-inning contest. This is the second time Beck's gone three-plus innings to earn a save this season. He's been an effective long-relief option for San Francisco with a 3.31 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 30:6 K:BB over 35.1 innings in his first big-league season. He also has a win and a hold through 14 appearances.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Sent back to minors

The Giants optioned Beck to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday. Beck covered 4.1 innings over two relief appearances during the Giants' series with the Cubs this past weekend and wasn't likely to be available for the next couple of days, so San Francisco opted to swap him off the 26-man active roster for a fresh relief arm in Keaton Winn, who was called up from Triple-A. During his upcoming stint with Sacramento, Beck is expected to transition back into a starting role in the event he's needed in the San Francisco rotation later in 2023.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Called up Wednesday

Beck was called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Beck will join the Giants ahead of their series finale against the Marlins, replacing Alex Wood (hamstring), who was added to the 15-day injured list. Beck had been starting for Sacramento, producing a 3.38 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with nine punchouts over 13.1 innings. Though the Giants have an opening in the rotation with Wood on the shelf, Ross Stripling is expected to get the first chance to replace the southpaw, so Beck may be on hand with the big club as a long-relief option.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Optioned to Sacramento

Beck (ankle) was optioned Tuesday to Triple-A Sacramento, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Beck was removed from a Cactus League appearance this past Sunday after taking a comebacker off his left ankle, but all seems to be well in that regard. The 26-year-old could get the call to the Giants as emergency rotation depth at some point in 2023.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Struck by comebacker

Beck exited Sunday's spring game against the A's after being hit in the left ankle with a comebacker, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. Beck came out of the bullpen Sunday and delivered 2.2 scoreless frames before exiting the contest. It's unclear if the 26-year-old will be available for his next turn through the rotation, and he should be considered day-to-day until his status is updated.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Joins 40-man roster

Beck was added to the Giants' 40-man roster Tuesday. Beck opened 2022 at Double-A Richmond but quickly earned a promotion to Triple-A Sacramento, where he spent the rest of the season. The 26-year-old struggled after he was moved up a level with a 5.64 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 97:29 K:BB across 97.1 innings with the River Cats.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Earns promotion to Triple-A

Beck was promoted to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Beck struggled at Double-A Richmond with a 5.89 ERA and 1.49 WHIP across 18.1 innings last season, and he finished at Single-A San Jose. After a strong spring training this year, Beck continued his success with a 2.57 ERA across 14 innings to open 2022, which earned him a move to Triple-A. He'll likely have another adjustment period at the highest level of the minors, so he's unlikely to be a major-league option this season.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Makes way back from IL

Beck (back) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list Sept. 13 and has worked 7.1 innings across two starts at Low-A San Jose, giving up five runs (four earned) on nine hits and a walk while striking out five. Double-A Richmond initially placed Beck on its 7-day injured list June 9 with a herniated disc on the left side of his back. The right-hander began an extended rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League in August, and though he's now seemingly healthy again, the Giants opted to send him to Low-A rather than including him in Richmond's rotation.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Moves rehab to Low-A

Beck (back) will shift his rehab assignment Wednesday from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to Low-A San Jose, Low-A San Jose broadcaster Joe Ritzo reports. Beck has resided on Double-A Richmond's 7-day injured list since June 9 while recovering from a herniated disc on the left side of his back, but he looks on pace to rejoin the affiliate before season's end. He started up a rehab assignment in the ACL in mid-August and wrapped up his stint in rookie ball with a three-inning appearance on Monday.

  • Giants' Tristan Beck: Out with herniated disk

Beck has been sidelined since May 21 due to a herniated disk on the left side of his back, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports. The headliner in the return from Atlanta for Mark Melancon in 2019, Beck logged a 5.89 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 18.1 innings with Double-A Richmond prior to suffering the injury, but he may have been pitching through some pain prior to landing on the shelf. He is without a timetable to return. If he can get healthy in time, Beck would be a prime candidate to pitch in the Arizona Fall League.
