Browns' Demetric Felton: Tallies 65 all-purpose yards in win
Felton rushed seven times for 46 yards and a touchdown, brought in two of three targets for nine yards and returned five punts for 10 yards during the Browns' 21-16 preseason win over the Jets in Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game.
Felton was efficient throughout the night on the ground while leading the Browns in rushing yards. The 2021 sixth-round pick also had a presence in the passing game and recorded Cleveland's second touchdown on a 16-yard run off left guard just past the midway point of the third quarter. Felton has been underutilized from scrimmage over his first two seasons despite his versatile skill set, but with Kareem Hunt off the roster, the third-year pro will have a chance to make a case for a larger role throughout the remainder of the summer.

Browns' Demetric Felton: Focus on RB
Felton will play as a running back during organized team activities, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Felton has been used in a variety of roles but hasn't taken hold as a receiver, back or return specialist. He hasn't been allowed to focus solely on running back and has just seven carries during his two years in Cleveland. At running back, he's third in line behind Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford, who played just 13 snaps on offense in 2022. The Browns have confidence in Ford, but Felton gives them a system-experienced backup plan.

Browns' Demetric Felton: Healthy scratch Week 16
Felton (coach's decision) has been ruled inactive for Saturday's game against the Saints.
Felton helped fill in for the Browns' injury-depleted receiving corps the past three games. However, the 24-year-old will now be ruled a healthy scratch for the fourth time in seven weeks, as wideouts Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, David Bell and Michael Woods are all set to play Saturday.

Felton caught his lone target for five yards in Saturday's 13-3 win over Baltimore.
Felton was part of the crew stepping up in the absence of David Bell (thumb) and Anthony Schwartz (concussion), but he played only four snaps. Most of the available third-wideout playing time went to Michael Woods (41 snaps) with Daylen Baldwin (12) behind him. The reception was just the second on the season for Felton.

Felton did not catch his lone target in Sunday's 27-14 win over the Texans in Week 13.
Felton was on the active roster for the first time in four weeks, which turned out to be a prudent decision by head coach Kevin Stefanski. The Browns lost slot receiver David Bell to a hand injury early and used Felton as a fill-in. He played a season-high 36 snaps and is more familiar with the slot role than Anthony Schwartz, who played five snaps on offense, so Felton could see consistent usage if Bell misses additional time.

Felton has just two touches on offense and one as a returner this season. The hybrid back has clearly dropped behind Jerome Ford and is used only when injuries hit at wideout or running back. With Ford and Michael Woods healthy, there's no room for Felton.

Felton has shifted roles all season. Some weeks he's on the active roster and some weeks he's not, and when he has been active, he's not always the primary kickoff returner. If the Browns trade either Kareem Hunt or D'Ernest Johnson, Felton's chances of seeing time on offense would improve, but rookie Jerome Ford (ankle) is eligible to return from injured reserve following the Browns' Week 9 bye.
