Smart (undisclosed) was reinstated to the Jets' practice squad from the practice squad COVID-19 list Wednesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Smart has two chances left to make his season debut for the Jets, and he's eligible to be elevated from the practice squad now that he has cleared the COVID-19 protocol.

The Jets placed Smart (undisclosed) on the practice squad COVID-19 list Monday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Smart logged three appearances with the Jets in 2020, but he hasn't yet suited up for a single game this season. Cornerback Lamar Jackson (undisclosed) was also moved to the practice squad COVID-19 list Monday.

Tanzel Smart: Fails to make roster
Smart was cut by the Bills on Saturday, Ryan Talbot of New York Upstate reports.
Smart latched on with the Bills this past month after he was let go by the Rams this offseason. In 13 games with the Rams in 2019, Smart logged seven tackles (two solo) and 174 defensive snaps. He'll seek to earn a similar depth role for another squad elsewhere around the league.

Bills' Tanzel Smart: Heads to Buffalo
Smart signed a contract with the Bills on Sunday, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports.
The Rams drafted Smart in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and the defensive tackle was deployed in a reserve role over three seasons. He compiled 21 tackles and a pass breakup over 31 games. He'll seek a similar role with the Bills, but he'll have a tough battle behind one of the league's top defensive lines.

Smart has been waived by the Rams, NFL.com reports.
Smart was taken by the Rams in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He suited up for 13 games in 2019 but only accumulated seven tackles (two solo) during that time. The 25-year-old will now have to set his sights on a new opportunity.

Rams' Tanzel Smart: Won't suit up Sunday
Smart (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports.
This will be Smart's third time as a healthy scratch this year, as the Rams will roll out five healthy defensive linemen in their 3-4 defense. Smart has compiled six tackles (one solo) through nine games he's played.
