Ducks' Troy Terry: Inks seven-year deal
2d agoTerry agreed Wednesday with Anaheim on a seven-year contract.
The Ducks didn't release the financial terms of the deal, but it's reportedly worth $7 million annually, per Eric Stephens of The Athletic. Terry will be getting a huge pay raise after he recently completed a three-year, $4.35 million contract before becoming a restricted free agent this summer. Terry broke out in 2021-22 with 37 goals and 67 points in 75 contests, then followed up with 23 markers and 61 points in 70 games in 2022-23. The 25-year-old should continue to be a key offensive force for the Ducks for the duration of his new contract.

Isac Lundestrom ANA C
Ducks' Isac Lundestrom: Suffers Achilles injury
2d agoLundestrom sustained an Achilles injury while training in Sweden and has undergone surgery, according to Derek Lee of The Sporting Tribune.
Lundestrom is projected to be out for around six months, which would translate to him missing the entirety of the Ducks' schedule before the All-Star Game. He had four goals and 14 points in 61 contests with Anaheim last season. Once Lundestrom is ready to rock, he'll likely serve in a bottom-six role.
-

Penguins' Drew O'Connor: Inks two-year deal
2d agoO'Connor agreed to terms on a two-year. $1.85 million contract with Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
O'Connor logged 46 games for the Pens last season in which he recorded five goals on 62 shots, six assists and 63 hits while averaging 9:49 of ice time. With his new contract in hand, O'Connor should be in contention for regular appearances in the lineup, likely in a bottom-six role, where he should be capable of reaching the 20-point threshold.

Ryan McLeod EDM C
Oilers' Ryan McLeod: Inks two-year contract
2d agoMcLeod agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million contract with the Oilers on Tuesday, Ryan Rishaug of TSN reports.
McLeod and the Oilers were still on the docket for arbitration before reaching the agreement. This new deal rewards McLeod with a sizable raise, though his role is unlikely to change from that of a middle-six center. He'll likely spend most of his time on the third line, though he occasionally worked on the second line in 2022-23. McLeod had 23 points in 57 contests last season.

He shared the crease with 2023 Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark, which will likely be the case again next campaign. The goaltending duo of the Bruins won the William M. Jennings Trophy after allowing a league-low 177 goals against during the 2022-23 regular season.

-
Vladimir Tarasenko NYR RW
Senators' Vladimir Tarasenko: Signs with Ottawa
8d agoTarasenko signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Senators on Thursday.
Tarasenko was reportedly close to a deal with the Hurricanes earlier in July, but that never came to fruition. Instead, he circled back to another team that had some early interest and took a short-term deal with the Senators. He'll provide a veteran presence in the top six for a young team, and he'll likely also add some scoring pop. The 31-year-old winger had 18 goals and 50 points over 69 contests last year, but he's a six-time 30-goal scorer. Tarasenko should also see ample power-play time in 2023-24, and his reasonable cap hit could make his contract moveable at the trade deadline if the Senators underperform, though Tarasenko has a full no-trade clause in the deal.
-
Sebastian Aho CAR LW
Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Inks massive contract extension
9d agoAho signed an eight-year, $78 million contract extension with Carolina on Wednesday.
Aho has one season left on his existing five-year, $42.295 million deal, so he's now locked up through the 2031-32 campaign. The 26-year-old forward had 36 goals and 67 points in 75 outings last season. That campaign marked the fourth time in five years in which Aho had recorded at least 30 goals. He should continue to be one of Carolina's top offensive weapons through the life of this new contract.
-
Pavel Dorofeyev LV LW
Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev: Signs one-year contract
15d agoDorofeyev signed a one-year, $825,000 contract with the Golden Knights on Wednesday.
Dorofeyev produced seven goals and two assists over 18 contests at the NHL level last season. The bulk of his appearances came in March and April, which suggests he could have an inside edge for a roster spot on Opening Night. The 22-year-old winger is likely to be limited to a bottom-six role when in Vegas' lineup in 2023-24.
-
Brandon Scanlin NYR D
Rangers' Brandon Scanlin: Agrees to one-year deal
3d agoScanlin agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with the Rangers on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

-
Kevin Bahl NJ D
Devils' Kevin Bahl: Signs two-year contract

Bahl chipped in two goals, eight points, 38 blocked shots and 64 hits in 42 games with the Devils last season. The 23-year-old will probably occupy a spot on New Jersey's second or third defense pairing during the 2023-24 campaign.
-

Carlsson had two assists in six games with Washington during the 2022-23 regular season. He also chipped in with a goal and 16 points in 59 AHL games with Hershey last season. Carlsson did not receive a qualifying offer from Washington in June, making him an unrestricted free agent. Carlsson, who was drafted in the first round (29th overall) in 2015, was never able to establish himself in the NHL, playing only 81 games over seven seasons.
-
Patrik Nemeth ARI D
Patrik Nemeth: Signs in Switzerland

Nemeth inked a three-year contract with Arizona two seasons ago -- the last season of his deal was bought out by the Coyotes in June.
-
Zach Werenski CLB D
Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: No delays expected at camp
8d agoWerenski (shoulder) feels 100 percent and will be ready for training camp, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Werenski underwent shoulder surgery Nov. 29 after playing in just 13 games last season prior to the injury. The defenseman should return to a top-four role if he doesn't suffer a setback before Opening Night. Werenski has been able to train normally this summer and has been playing in summer-league games in the Columbus area.
-

Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Signs with Hurricanes

DeAngelo had 10 goals and 51 points over 64 games with the Hurricanes during the 2021-22 campaign. In his return to Raleigh, he will probably be utilized on Carolina's third defense pairing and see time on the second power-play unit.

Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Receives one-year contract

He shared the crease with 2023 Vezina Trophy winner Linus Ullmark, which will likely be the case again next campaign. The goaltending duo of the Bruins won the William M. -
Filip Gustavsson MIN G
Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Signs three-year deal
4d agoGustavsson signed a three-year, $11.25 million contract with Minnesota on Monday.
Gustavsson and the Wild had an arbitration hearing scheduled for Friday, which now won't be necessary. The 25-year-old netminder posted a 22-9-7 record last season with three shutouts, a 2.10 GAA and a .931 save percentage in 39 appearances. Gustavsson is projected to be Minnesota's No. 1 goalie going into the 2023-24 campaign, but he could face some competition from Marc-Andre Fleury for starts.
-
Matt Murray TOR G
Maple Leafs' Matt Murray: Placed on LTIR
9d agoMurray (undisclosed) is considered out indefinitely and was placed on the long-term injured reserve list by Toronto on Wednesday.
Toronto didn't specify the reason for moving Murray to the long-term injured reserve list. He didn't play past April 2 because of a concussion, but he was the Maple Leafs' third goaltender for a playoff contest against Florida on May 7, which suggests that he was at least considered an emergency option at that time. The goaltender also missed a significant stretch of the 2022-23 campaign due to an ankle injury. If Murray isn't available going forward, then Joseph Woll is likely to serve as Ilya Samsonov's backup in 2023-24.
-
Ilya Samsonov TOR G
Maple Leafs' Ilya Samsonov: Lands one-year deal
12d agoSamsonov (neck) was awarded a one-year, $3.55 million contract with Toronto on Sunday by an independent arbitrator.

In 42 games last season, he posted a 27-10-5 record with a 2.33 GAA and a .919 save percentage. Samsonov will likely enter this year as the Maple Leafs' No. 1 netminder.
-
Keith Kinkaid COL G
Keith Kinkaid: Links up with AHL Chicago
17d agoKinkaid signed a one-year contract with AHL Chicago on Tuesday.
Chicago will operate independently this season, so Kinkaid will have no direct path back to an NHL deal. The 34-year-old split time between the Avalanche and the Bruins last season, playing in one game for each of those NHL clubs while spending the bulk of the campaign in the minors. Kinkaid will still be free to ink an NHL deal if he shows well with the Wolves.
-
Jacob Ingham LA G
Jacob Ingham: Inks AHL deal
17d agoIngham signed a one-year, AHL-only contract with AHL Ontario on Tuesday.
Ingham is expected to be fully healthy for the start of the 2023-24 campaign. He's yet to make his NHL debut, and he missed all of last season while recovering from back surgery. He'll have to show well with Ontario before potentially signing an NHL deal, but he'll remain on the Kings' radar with their minor-league affiliate.
